Rapier Events at Simple Day 2022

All students of the arts of defense are invited to join in a day of fun. We have many options available for your enjoyment and edification!

The traditional cookie tourney will be held on Friday night. Participants are expected to bring a donation of cookies to share. Fighters and other donors will be given tokens to play with and for, which can be traded in for COOKIES! If the weather is unpleasantly hot, we will be inside for this tourney (but that will also mean masked fighting)!

The day’s primary tournament will be a gift tourney. All participants are expected to bring a prize (period(ish) and preferably home-made) to share. Everyone will receive a prize, choosing in order of place, with the winner receiving first choice from the bounty provided.

There will also be a novice tourney for those who feel they qualify (no requirement based on years of fighting or awards).

While we are not hosting an official war practice this year, General Cole (ELOC!) will be on hand. We will be playing some melee games that will help you be prepared for this year’s Pennsic, if you’re attending. The melee games will adhere to this year’s war conventions.

There will be opportunities to authorize in spear, heavy rapier, cut & thrust, and youth rapier for those needing to prepare for the Pennsic experience.

MiTs are welcome and encouraged to volunteer to assist with the day and earn signatures toward their training requirements! Please contact Meister Peter Grau von Bremen via PeterGrau@midrealm.org ahead of time if possible, so we can try to fit your needs with the available opportunities.
